Here I am thirty. How’s it going?
I never thought I would be one to ever care how old I would get, but there’s just something about leaving your twenties behind. You do a lot of growing in your twenties, not just physically.
I haven’t added in a 30 year old photo. I won’t until I get my hairs done on Saturday. Anyway, here’s what my twenties were for me:
- I went to Europe, lived in France, visited Spain and England.
- I lost my virginity.
- I learned how to pluck my eyebrows.
- I learned that it’s more important to do what makes you happy as opposed to what makes more money.
- I was president of my chemistry and french clubs.
- I graduated college.
- I went to grad school.
- I walked out of DC, past the pentagon on 9/11.
- I had my heart broken.
- I learned what Adonois means. Several times.
- I was kicked out of grad school.
- I started my career as an artist.
- I fell in love.
- I moved into my first apartment.
- My roommate almost got me evicted.
- I met my husband.
- I got engaged.
- I moved in with a boy for the first time.
- I lost track of some good friends.
- I got married.
- I went on my first, and last, cruise.
- I went sailing for the first time.
- I went to my first bar-mitzvah. And passover.
- I reunited with some close friends.
- I found my birth family.
- I worked in a place that could actually be compared to hell.
- I made some awesome new friends.
- I bought my first house.
- I tried to get my horrible boss fired.
- I quit a job, while pregnant, without having another lined up.
- I got pregnant.
- I went through 2 cars and am on my 3rd.
- I gave birth, and it wasn’t so bad.
- I became a stay-at-home mom.
I’ve learned so much. While I know I’ll still have things to add to that list, I know that the focus will mostly be shifted to others. Like, for instance, Julia can now touch her toes.
If I get around to it, I’ll post some photos of my favorite moments with friends and family. For now, I have some chores to do, even though I decided to not do any on my birthday.

Hey, I agree…our twenties were pretty damn good. But our thirties are gonna be EVEN BETTER!!!
And let’s just make it clear, that though I may have had laundry piled up to my eyeballs, and though I may have had sex in inappropriate places (*ahem*) I’m NOT the roomie that almost got you evicted…ok, I just wanted to clear that up. Can’t wait for SATURDAY! : ) Hey – we’ve known each other for ALL of our twenties. We met BEFORE our twenties…aaaahhhh!!!
