hello 30

Here I am thirty. How’s it going?

I never thought I would be one to ever care how old I would get, but there’s just something about leaving your twenties behind. You do a lot of growing in your twenties, not just physically.

I haven’t added in a 30 year old photo. I won’t until I get my hairs done on Saturday. Anyway, here’s what my twenties were for me:

  1. I went to Europe, lived in France, visited Spain and England.
  2. I lost my virginity.
  3. I learned how to pluck my eyebrows.
  4. I learned that it’s more important to do what makes you happy as opposed to what makes more money.
  5. I was president of my chemistry and french clubs.
  6. I graduated college.
  7. I went to grad school.
  8. I walked out of DC, past the pentagon on 9/11.
  9. I had my heart  broken.
  10. I learned what Adonois means. Several times.
  11. I was kicked out of grad school.
  12. I started  my career as an artist.
  13. I fell in love.
  14. I moved into my first apartment.
  15. My roommate almost got me evicted.
  16. I met my husband.
  17. I got engaged.
  18. I moved in  with a boy for the first time.
  19. I lost track of some good friends.
  20. I got married.
  21. I went on my first, and last, cruise.
  22. I went sailing for the first time.
  23. I went to my first bar-mitzvah. And passover.
  24. I reunited with some close friends.
  25. I found my birth family.
  26. I worked in a place that could actually be compared to hell.
  27. I made some awesome  new friends.
  28. I bought my first house.
  29. I tried to get my horrible boss fired.
  30. I quit a job, while pregnant, without having another lined up.
  31. I got pregnant.
  32. I went through 2 cars and am on my 3rd.
  33. I gave birth, and it wasn’t so bad.
  34. I became a stay-at-home mom.

I’ve learned so much. While I know I’ll still have things to add to that list, I know that the focus will mostly be shifted to others. Like, for instance, Julia can now touch her toes.

If I get around to it, I’ll post some photos of my favorite moments with friends and family. For now, I have some chores to do, even though I decided to not do any on my birthday.

  • Hey, I agree…our twenties were pretty damn good. But our thirties are gonna be EVEN BETTER!!! :) And let’s just make it clear, that though I may have had laundry piled up to my eyeballs, and though I may have had sex in inappropriate places (*ahem*) I’m NOT the roomie that almost got you evicted…ok, I just wanted to clear that up. Can’t wait for SATURDAY! : ) Hey – we’ve known each other for ALL of our twenties. We met BEFORE our twenties…aaaahhhh!!!
